FAQs...FAQs...FAQs

We try to answer some of your questions

Q. Where do you ship to?
A.
The carriage charges shown on site (or FREE carriage for orders over £200) apply to mainland uk addresses only, as defined by our carriers. We will quote costs for overseas deliveries on an individual basis. Please contact us if you have a specific requirement.

Q. Which Credit or Debit cards do you accept?
A.We accept the following cards for mail order sales:- most cards bearing the Visa or Mastercard logo, plus uk issued Maestro, Switch and Solo cards. We are sorry but we're unable to accept Visa Electron via the web site, (but it can be used in store) nor do we currently accept American Express or Diners Club. We realise that not everybody likes keying in all their card and address details on a web site and may prefer to 'phone the order through..no problem! Just give us a call on 0161 789 4415.

Q. I don't have a credit or debit card, how can I buy from you?
A. We can accept cheques, Banker's Drafts, B.A.C.S. or cash. Please contact us with your requirements. Naturally we would have to wait until funds have 'cleared' before despatching any goods.

Q. Do you have a showroom that we can visit in person?
A.
Sure we have and it's the largest in the North West. We welcome you to call in and take a look. We also have a large free car park and are just off the M60 motorway (Manchester Ring Road). Exit at Junction 11 and follow the A57 towards Eccles. After about 2/3 of a mile you'll see Bridgewater Mill on your left as you cross over a little canal. The store is open Monday to Saturday, 10.00am to 5.30pm. We do not open Sundays or Bank Holidays. If in any doubt please check with us before travelling. (you can download a map from www.multimap.com)

Q. Why doesn't the store open on a Sunday?
A.
Because we have all probably done gigs the night before (unlike some dealers who've never used a pair of drumsticks in their life) and because we all have families who we'd never get to see if we were working. Now, thanks to this website our customers can browse or buy on line 24/7.

Q. Are acoustic drumkits built or boxed?
A. If an acoustic drumkit is to be sent mail order, it will usually arrive in two or sometimes three boxes. Some of the drums will already be assembled but some will require the heads (skins) fitting. This is fairly straightforward and most kits come with instructions, but if you still need any guidance you can email or 'phone us for help. Kits bought in store are also normally supplied boxed, but for an extra charge, you can have it checked, built and tuned by experienced staff. Naturally, once a kit is assembled it won't fit back in the boxes, so we advise anyone collecting an assembled kit from us to bring some old blankets to protect their purchase on the way home or better still, to buy a set of drumbags. Electronic kits are always supplied boxed.

Q. What if I can't find what I want on your website?
A.
Contact us. It's impossible for us to list every single item that we have in stock...there are thousands upon thousands...let us know what you're looking for and we'll probably have it or be able to order it for you.

Q. Why don't you offer to "beat any other price" ?
A.
Because we want to remain in business. The Drum Centre (Manchester) opened in 1986 with the philosophy that we would offer the drumming public great service and fair prices and by sticking to this we became the largest store, both in floor area and in the amount of gear we stock, in Manchester if not the whole North West. When you see a shop or website who'll beat anybody's price just ask yourself...Are they out to make a "fast buck" or maybe desperate to get money so they can survive? Will they still be around if I have a problem? Our price match policy is to look at each case individually and if we can match or beat the quote you have, then we will.

Q. How many other branches do you have?
A. None! We have always been based in Eccles, Manchester. It's just that "Drum Centre" is a popular name for a drum shop but unfortunately it means that people sometimes confuse us with other shops.
